Tomintoul Distillery

The distillery is named after the nearby village of Tomintoul, in the Highlands of Scotland within the prestigious Glenlivet Estate in the heart of the Speyside region. Tomintoul distillery started in 1965, and have been making whisky for four generations. In 2000 the distillery was purchased by Angus Dundee Distillers, who have expanded the whisky brand worldwide. The distillery was founded in 1964. It doubled in capacity when two extra stills were installed in 1974, and started bottling single malt whisky in that year. In 2009 Tomintoul entered the Guinness Book of World Records by producing the largest bottle of whisky in the world, containing 105.3 litres of 14-year-old Tomintoul malt whisky.
